There is nothing new under the sun, not even your thoughts and feelings.  Know that you are not the first person to desire "good things".  You are not the first person to desire someone to love you.  God recognized this in the beginning and...


Genesis 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.


Really and truly I could stop writing here because if you'd just take a moment to ponder on every word I stated and let it all sink in, I truly think you would be thoroughly convinced that having someone to love and to love you is a given.  That person has already been given!  All we have to do is accept it.  If your desire is to have that special someone then so it is.  God gave us the ability to feel/desire and to have a choice in what it is we desire.  God gave us the ability to desire someone too.

Psalm 37:4 gives a promise that can often strike us as too good to be true when it says, “Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.” 

It is God's joy to give you what you desire.  The missing piece we choose to remiss is the part that says, "Delight yourself in the Lord!" We dwell on what it is we desire instead of delighting ourselves in the Lord.  The thing we desire replaces the ONE (replaces God) who gives us what we desire.  Because of such omission, the energy we then take on is one of lack, pain, hurt, detriment, emptiness, constant turmoil, self loathing, etc.  Because of such omission, life begins to reflect all that we feel.  Because of such omission, the enemy (the energy of negativity) unconsciously takes on a life (a hell) of its' own.  The hell I will reference in this book is called "NEEDINESS".  But first things first.  Let us get some understanding of what God has asked of us.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: "Be sober, Be vigilant!"  Be vigilant about your sobriety.  What does that mean?  Let's break it down.



Sober - 

ADJECTIVE

  1. not affected by alcohol; not drunk.

    not drunk · not intoxicated · clearheaded · 


Any time our thoughts are replaced by anything other than God's thoughts...good thoughts, we are not of sound mind.  We are not sober.  We are not clearheaded.  In other words, we are drunk.

Ephesians 6:10-18 

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
